About Us
carbonsynk - turning rocks into solutions
carbonsynk is developing routes to combatting climate change by accelerating Earth's slow carbon cycle, enhancing the mechanisms that chemical rock weathering takes CO2 from the atmosphere to be ultimately permanently sequestered into the oceans. Our team is based in Singapore and comes out the country's world-leading research universities, NTU and NUS. We are excited to advance enhanced rock weathering in Asia, delivering the potential for future carbon credits and increased agricultural productivity in the region.

Our Story
Originating from a research project carried out at the Asian School of the Environment at NTU Singapore, carbonsynk is exploring the fantastic potential for carbon reduction offered by the near-equatorial and tropical soils of Singapore's Southeast Asian, East Asian and South Asian neighbours. Prof. Simon Redfern has, for some time, been exploring the scientific basis for enhanced rock weathering, and now as a team we are realising its application in making a difference, to achieve the global ambitions of reversing climate change and building a sustainable future for all.
